Ed
Botelho retired from auto mechanics after a serious
accident
and moved from the sunny south to the small
village
of Millbridge on the coast of Maine.
Once
Ed was settled in to the quite way of life of a coastal fishing
community,
he decided to try something completely different.
Etching
was something he had only heard of but
at
his father's urging, he decided to try it.
Ed
has developed a process to etch and color marble that
is
quite different from anything elsewhere.
He
uses Guatemala Marble because of its light color and texture.
"Ed's
Etchings" are all free hand and each is as uniquely
individual
as the artist the made it.
Ed
shows his art work at local craft fairs and has got
some
very encouraging comments.
He
is able to offer a complete range of etchings
including
anything from portraits to car pictures.

Without his prompting it probably would never have happened. Although his body was broken, his mind was very much alive. A favorite saying of his was, "THE ONLY DEFEET WE SHOULD EXCEPT IS THE ONES BELOW DEANKLES" |
The
following are some examples of "Ed's Etchings".
